Overview

The Mental Health Education Enhancement Hub is an initiative by Three Rivers DRH and MPHN to support students across various health disciplines during their rural mental health placement, as well as health professionals working in mental health within the Three Rivers geographical footprint.

These resources are important for any student or health professional who works with individuals with living or lived experience of mental illness across a variety of rural settings, regardless of the health discipline in which you work.

Our aim is to provide a digital platform that delivers accessible, evidence-based mental health education, training and resources that align with current practice and curriculum.

This hub aims to…

  • Build capacity for empathetic communication and self-reflection.

  • Enhance interdisciplinary communication, learning and support.

  • Increase understanding of mental health best practice concepts such as recovery, trauma-informed and person-centered care

  • Raise awareness of the breadth of service provision in mental health care and support in the context of rural practice

  • Foster engagement and awareness of local career development resources, opportunities and industry insights to support successful transitions into the rural mental health industry.
