Foundations for Building Trauma Awareness

We are sponsoring this virtual training day delivered by Blue Knot, targeted at first responders, mental health professionals and rural clinicians in our area. This training is usually $350 but is offered to you at no cost. Places are limited to 30, so register early!

This training program uses current research to provide an understanding of trauma, the impacts of trauma on all aspects of life and subsequently, the coping mechanisms formed in response to trauma. The principles of trauma-informed practice are introduced, which focus on a strengths-based approach.

What’s in it for me?

  • It’s free.

  • You will develop your understanding of the types, prevalence, neurobiology and impacts of trauma.

  • You will learn how to use a trauma-informed lens to reframe and understand trauma responses.

  • You will practice applying trauma-informed principles in real-world scenarios to enhance safety, minimise re-traumatisation and support recovery.

Who should attend?

Healthcare workers in the Three Rivers footprint who wish to create a strong foundation base in the understanding of trauma and complex trauma.
