Managing Wellbeing and Recognising Vicarious Trauma

This training program explores the nature, dynamics and risks of vicarious trauma and supports you to stay healthy and safe in your work. It is informed by current research, will provide you with the knowledge, skills and tools to better recognise the early signs of various stress outcomes.

Foundations for Building Trauma Awareness

This training program uses current research to provide an understanding of trauma, the impacts of trauma on all aspects of life and subsequently, the coping mechanisms formed in response to trauma. The principles of trauma-informed practice are introduced, which focus on a strengths-based approach.

You will develop your understanding of the types, prevalence, neurobiology and impacts of trauma.
You will learn how to use a trauma-informed lens to reframe and understand trauma responses.

Free face-to-face professional development – Listening to Voices
This free face-to-face professional development for local educators, academics and service providers will be held in Wagga Wagga.
Sponsored by Three Rivers DRH and delivered by Gateway Health, this workshop will consolidate and translate what you learned from the evening performance into your teaching and professional practices.

Promote the Listening to Voices suite of resources for education and learning and offer consultation on utilising in curriculum.
Introduce academics, educators, and the broader community of Wagga Wagga to lived experience narratives to build empathy and understanding.
Increase knowledge and awareness of the needs of people experiencing psychological distress, mental illness, and trauma.

Free theatre performance of the award-winning Listening to Voices.
This free theatre performance of the award-winning Listening to Voices will be held in Wagga Wagga.
See, hear and feel the journey of ordinary people as they share their experiences of voices, depression, anxiety, diagnosis, life, loss and ultimately, hope. This powerful performance is something rare and important that balances humour alongside tough topics such as suicide to ultimately unite us all in the human journey.
Listening to Voices is crafted by those with lived experience of mental health challenges, and will offer you an intimate and unforgettable glimpse into the realities of voice-hearing, trauma, and recovery. It inspires critical reflection and builds a framework of respect, understanding and hope in workplaces, educational settings, and communities.
The performance will be followed by a reflective Q&A session with the performers, allowing you to engage deeply with the stories shared on stage.
